Flicker

Beneath the strobe of fractured neon lights,

Our glowing bodies sway to the beat.

The darkness grants seconds of sight;

Among these bodies our eyes meet.

A flash reveals your silhouette.

A closing door seals our moment.

A trail of clothes we’ll leave till sunset.

Eyes, lips, kisses, and warm skin: a passionate fragment

A strobe of sunlight pierces through the curtains.

I knew your warmth, but not your name.

In our trail of clothes, I search for you, uncertain.

He’s gone. A flicker I can’t claim.

Tired of flickers;

I want a flame.
